It’s popular to have sectional furniture in your living room, especially if you enjoy family time together. Since they’re used every day, they will accumulate more dirt and stains. Everybody always has a favourite spot on the furniture, which will require extra cleaning attention.

In every home, dining room chairs endure daily life’s spills and stains more than any other piece of furniture.
It’s important to get your furniture cleaning done professionally once a year. That doesn’t mean that you don’t need to do maintenance in between. You should vacuum your furniture at least once a month to prevent dirt from getting deeper into the cushions.
If you accidentally spill anything on your couch, you should clean it up right away. A good way to lightly clean your couch is to use a damp white cleaning towel to gently wipe the material. Make sure to wipe it in the direction of the fabric pile.
We do not recommend using any store-bought spot cleaners, as those are not made for all fabrics. They can easily bleach out an area on the fabric or even make a simple stain permanent.

Vivid Cleaning offers upholstery cleaning services available in Toronto. We use steam cleaning for almost all upholstery cleaning. Pressurized hot water extraction, also known as steam cleaning, is the recommended cleaning method by most furniture manufacturing companies.
When it comes to upholstery cleaning, only steam cleaning can clean most furniture properly. Dirt, sweat and stains don’t just sit on top of material. These particles penetrate the top layer of the fabric and show visible shading on the top layer of the upholstered material. Dry cleaning methods will not be able to reach them, and steam cleaning is needed to properly clean them. The way steam cleaning works is the machine sprays hot water (not steam) with cleaning solution onto fabric. The pressurized water penetrates the material and lifts and loosens dirt. Then a powerful vacuum extracts all the dirt and water from the furniture. This is as close as we can get to actually washing the furniture.
- Check Inspect the furniture and identify fabric material.
- Prepare Vacuum if required (for example, to remove pet fur). Pre-spray with upholstery cleaning solution on the fabric. Brush the pre-spray cleaning product into the upholstery using a horsehair brush to suspend dirt.
- Clean Hot water extraction is applied along with fabric rinse/softener. The last step uses our most powerful steam cleaning equipment. This provides your upholstery with a deep and thorough cleaning. We use cleaning solutions for upholstery cleaning. The last step of hot water extraction will remove remaining cleaning solution.
- Dry We understand that you want a deep furniture cleaning, and you want to use it as fast as possible after cleaning. Generally, it takes approximately 2 to 8 hours for everything to dry completely.
For customers in condos and apartments, we use powerful portable cleaning equipment. For clients who live in houses, we use truck-mounted steam cleaning equipment for an even deeper clean.
Our promise: we start with the worst area and show you how it looks. If you don’t like the result, we stop there and there’s nothing to pay. This covers furniture, patio cushions and mattresses. Rayon and viscose fabrics are not included.

To extend the quality and life of your mattress, we recommend using a thick mattress under-pad, washed weekly or bi-weekly.
We advise annual mattress cleaning, not only to maintain a fresh sleeping environment but also to comply with many mattress warranty requirements.

Do you take furniture away to clean it?
No. Furniture and mattresses are cleaned in your home. Only area rugs go to our facility, with free pickup and delivery.
Can you clean any fabric?
We clean all types of fabric, including microfibre, cotton, wool, polyester, silk, acrylic, vinyl and many more. Don’t worry if your kids or pets made a mess on your favourite piece of furniture; Vivid Cleaning can clean it all. We clean urine stains on sofas and chairs. Our enzyme treatment helps, and often removes the smell, but smell is personal, so we can’t promise it will be gone. Keep in mind that not all upholstery is cleaned using steam cleaning. Fabrics like unbleached Haitian cotton can only be cleaned with specific cleaning shampoo. Using water and regular cleaning solution can damage the material and cause it to discolour.
