Rug reweaving and hole repair in Toronto
A hole in a rug tends to grow. Reweaving can rebuild the damaged spot, and a simpler repair can stop it growing. We look at your rug first and tell you plainly what’s worth doing.
Pickup and delivery are free. Cleaning is priced by the size of your rug, and you'll see the full price before we start.

Signs to look for
How holes start
Busy family rooms are hard on a rug.
Many holes begin as a worn spot where feet or furniture press on the rug every day. Others come from a burn, a chewing pet or moths. We repair tears and burn marks too, not only holes.
- Worn-through spots
- Tears or splits
- Burn marks
- A hole that’s getting bigger
A small hole is easier to deal with than a big one, so it’s worth a look early.

Our first look
What we check first
How your rug was made decides what’s possible.
A hand-knotted rug is built row by row, with knots tied onto a base of threads. Reweaving rebuilds that base and ties new knots into it, so it’s work for hand-made rugs.
We check how your rug was made, how big the damage is, and how sound the rug is around it. If your rug is antique or fragile, what we can do depends on its condition, so we look at it first and tell you.
You’ll hear what we found, and what we’d suggest, in plain words.

Your options
Reweave, patch or secure
Explained before any work.
Rug hole repair isn’t one job. What suits yours depends on the rug, and on how big and how deep the damage goes.
- Reweave New base threads and new knots, with colours and fibres matched by hand. Long, careful work, usually kept for valuable, antique or art rugs.
- Patch Another way to close a hole. We’ll explain what it would mean for your rug before you decide.
- Secure Stitching around the damage so it doesn’t spread. Sometimes that’s all an everyday rug needs.
We can only price a hole repair once we’ve seen the rug. Call us for a price. No work starts until you say yes.

One visit
Wash first, then the repair
One pickup, one delivery.
Before any repair, the whole rug gets a full wash, even if it’s fairly new. Loose fibres come out, and moth damage nobody had noticed can show up, so we know exactly what we’re repairing.
If the wash shows more than we expected, we call you before going further. Pickup and delivery are free anywhere in Toronto, North York, Etobicoke or Scarborough, and in Vaughan, Markham, Richmond Hill or Thornhill.

Questions
Reweaving and hole repair questions
The questions we hear most, answered plainly. For anything else, just call us.
How much does it cost to repair a hole in a rug?
It depends on the rug, the size of the hole and the repair it needs, so we price it after we’ve seen it. To start, text photos and the rug’s dimensions to (416) 939-7571. You’ll know the price before we start, and if you decide not to go ahead after the inspection, the return is free.
Can you reweave a machine-made rug?
Reweaving is for hand-made rugs, because it rebuilds the knots and threads they’re made from. A machine-made rug may suit a different repair. Text us a photo and we’ll tell you what makes sense.
Will I still see where the hole was?
We match colours and fibres by hand and aim for a repair that blends in. Up close, especially on an older rug, you may still be able to find it. You’ll know what to expect before any work starts.
Is it worth fixing a hole in an everyday rug?
Sometimes it isn’t, and we’ll say so. Reweaving takes a lot of slow handwork, so it mostly makes sense for a valuable rug, an antique or a piece of art. On other rugs, securing the hole so it doesn’t grow may be enough. We only suggest what your rug really needs.
